The British American Pre-School and the Bilingual European School offer an educational pathway of excellence that leads today's children and young people towards the important goal of facing tomorrow.

Through the application of innovative teaching methods tailored to each age group and a welcoming and stimulating environment, BAPS and BES pupils develop a spontaneous and natural understanding of the English language, creativity that is unafraid to express itself, and an intelligence capable of demonstrating critical thinking and initiative.

Our faculty is made up of teachers whose highly professional qualities and dedication encourage our students to develop their full potential, both in English and in Italian, and thus achieve their own, personal excellence that will enable them to become true "citizens of the world," prepared and eager to embark on a lifelong journey of learning.

Who we are

Founded in 1999, the Bilingual European School (BES) is the first bilingual school in Milan. It is a Paritarian Primary and Secondary School with Italian and native English-speaking teachers that has been offering a cutting-edge educational approach for years. The Bilingual European School is the natural continuation of the British American Pre-School (BAPS), a "full English" preschool and kindergarten school founded in 1987. The Full Immersion English Programme at BAPS is carefully designed to ensure that children begin their scholastic and personal journey that will accompany them toward goals, satisfaction and success, providing them with knowledge and skills for a smooth transition to the BES bilingual programme.

Our goal is to stimulate in children the desire to reach developmental milestones and nurture a passion for learning, enabling them to acquire perfect mastery of a second language.

What makes us special?

We encourage students to develop their natural talents, both in English and Italian, complementing the Italian ministerial programme with the Primary Years Programme (PYP) of the IBO.

  • the desire to achieve personal and educational excellence
  • development of an international mindset that enables them to become global citizens
  • the aspiration to embark on a lifelong journey of learning
